At St. Anthony's young people are invited to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation while in the 9th grade. The Confirmation program is a two year program for 8th and 9th grade students.

Older youth and adults who seek the Sacrament of Confirmation should call the parish office at 443-646-5721 to make an appointment to meet with the pastor to prepare a plan to prepare for the sacrament or to enroll in the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) class.

"The Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring all things to your mind, whatsoever I shall have said to you." (Jn 14:26)

ABOUT THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION
The Holy Spirit bestows seven gifts - wisdom, understanding, knowledge, fortitude, counsel, piety, and fear of the Lord. When we are responsive to the grace of Confirmation and the seven gifts, we begin to bear these fruits of the Spirit. The tradition of the Church names twelve fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, and chastity.

As you are confirmed you will become a member of the community for the first time by your own words. When you are anointed with the Sacred Chrism you will be forever sealed in the name of Jesus Christ. You will be strengthened for Christian life by His Grace and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Confirmation "completes" the three Sacraments of Initiation that began with Baptism.

The reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace...."By the sacrament of Confirmation (the baptized) are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with the Holy Spirit."
