Created in His Image"So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them." Genesis 1:27
You are a son or daughter of God and you look like Him!
Let this fact sink in. We are all unique and God has given us a special purpose that only we can fulfill. The Catechism of the Catholic Church reminds us that we as human persons are the only creatures that God made just to love and be loved. Everything else God made -- animals, plants, and even angels --was made to do a job or accomplish some task for Him or for humanity. This is why the Catechism reminds us that from our beginning we are made for eternal happiness with God (see CCC 1703) You were created by Love, for Love, to Love.
The face of Jesus Christ is the face of true humanity. Jesus shows us what it means to be truly human and when we know Him, He makes our calling clear!
The spiritual struggle is real! Sin disfigures the image of God. When we choose to sin, or disobey God, our relationship with God weakens and we become less human. The Sacrament of Reconciliation restores us to our true identity, as a son or daughter of God. The Sacrament of Holy Eucharist feeds our bodies and souls and strengthens us to choose the good. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we strive to live as Jesus did, knowing that God our Father holds each of us in the palm of His hand.
We each have a part in God's mission to save the world from sin. Your personal relationship with Jesus has an eternal impact for your own life, as well as those in your realm of influence. This year, we encourage each other to fully embrace ourselves as created, loved and blessed by God. We pray for each other that we each have a great desire to know, love, and serve God in all areas of our life - in our family, in our school, with our friends and in our community, and share Him with others!
We welcome everyone to our Faith Formation Program to discover how to better reflect the image of God in their own life. We provide opportunities for all members of the parish to learn, be renewed, and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ through the reception of the Sacraments and their understanding of the Catholic Faith.
